It's the first day of NAB 2014 and the news and rumours about new products has started already. They are mainly about cameras, a New Sony 4K DSLR, a possible new Blackmagic camera and the big news of the new $9,000 AJA Cion 4K camera.
Earlier in the week we had FCP guru Larry Jordan's take on what he expects to see at NAB next week. This time it's workflow guru Sam Mestman's turn to look into the crystal ball...

A mix of excitement and disappointment after this year's Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco this year. The new MacBook Pro with a retina display running an updated Final Cut Pro looks gorgeous, but same form factor MacPros without Thunderbolt are a bit of a letdown.

As Mark Raudonis said, "What a difference a year makes" This time last year the chat was all FCPX, now the panel of leading industry speakers major on life post FCP7, what's happening to the MacPro and what does the Cloud mean to us editors.
Larry Jordan gave a couple of talks at the recent BVE Expo in London. In one, he summed up the not too successful Final Cut Pro X launch quite well. We've also included some other great speakers from the show too who talk about tapeless production, 3D, SANs, media in the cloud and much much more...

If you're anywhere near Boston this coming Thursday the 27th of October, then this is a must. The SuperMeet sets down camp in Massachusetts for the night with a pretty impressive presenter line up. What will Walter Murch think of Final Cut Pro X?
Two reasons for posting this article. The first is to publicise the upcoming MacVideo Expo next week in London on the 18th. The second is to remind you that you can get a free listing for your event in our community section, it will even appear on our front page!
