The 10.0.6 update to FCPX was huge. One of the new features was the ability to ingest and handle RAW files from the RED range of cameras. Our normal duo get very excited showing how easy this has become in Final Cut Pro X.
One of the things that FCPX got slammed for on launch was the program not supporting some camera formats such as RED. A few updates on and in typical fashion Apple have now made the process of ingesting and editing the large 4k & 5K RED RAW files very easy.
Steve Martin shows Mark Spencer in this new episode of MacBreak Studio the workflow when dealing with these files. You have to love their almost schoolboy enthusiasm for demoing how cool it is to be able to play the huge files on a laptop.
Ripple Training have some of the best Final Cut Pro X Training available and we recommend you check out their downloadable tutorials if you would like to learn more. If you prefer books to study from, both Steve's publication on FCPX and Mark's on Motion are still in print.
As always many thanks to the two guys for the excellent tutorial.
