A big question for our brand new shiny forum on sunny Monday morning:
When are you going to download, install and use FCPX?
On one machine it will get installed as soon as it appears on the Apple website
On the other machine that gets used for editing to earn money, I'll wait until people have had experience of both versions running side by side.
I just hope that the keyboard shortcuts are similar so that it will be easy to flip between the two.
I will first load it on my laptop and do a few personal projects. Then when I feel like I can really edit on it I will load it on my main machine. I actually have alot more faith in it after Larry jordans blog talking about his comment. I hope it is true that he now feels it's ready for pro use.
The instant it comes out.
I actually have a personal project shot that's still sitting on my SxS cards. I'm going to do a full, end-to-end project as quickly as possible, just to see what the entire workflow is like.
The very second it is shown in the app store! New to Mac, so I dont have FCP7 installed and am coming off the back of Vegas Pro which ive never really been a fan of. Got a wedding to do on Saturday so Apple - please get a move on so I can learn the prog!
I'm still on Leopard and FCStudio 2, so I'm not sure how I can get it (ie I'm without the Mac App Store) without the expense of buying / hassle of installing Snow Leopard first, as ideally I'd want to go straight to Lion before getting FCPX.
I'd also want to make sure that Motion, either from my current build or from a new App, work with it from day one.
Well, as everyone else I'm gona get FCP X the second it's available on the Mac app store! However,I've seen a great tutorial from David Roth Weiss on creative cow about setting up different booting partitions so we can keep FCP 7 with Snow leopard on one partition,FCP X with Snow leopard on a 2nd partition and FCP X with lion on a third partition! it looks like a great way to have a secure passage between diffrent versions and operating systems.
