After updating to 10.3.3, MXFs exported from within FCPX (either via Send to Compressor, or through a saved share preset) wind up with silent audio tracks. Anyone else seen this?
I've reproduced the error on two separate machines. I've tried D-10 IMX, AVC-Intra 50 and DV, all with the same results.
FYI, found the issue in my situation. It was the Roles. Exporting MFX in FCPX directly you are forced to configure your audio roles into the eight audio tracks. In my case, the "VO" role wasn't being included. I had to re-assing ALL clips the role if Dialogue so that I'd have a cleat stereo pair of audio tracks in an MXF file.
I suspect that my issue may have similar roots. The necessity to configure roles for MXF export is one of the reasons I prefer to do it via a Compressor preset. Once it is set up it is basically just a one click affair to export the timeline, without having to worry whether all the roles are included.
Totally agree! The setting of roles is a very time consuming step. I always exported my MXF (XDCAM HD 422) using the compressor setting and it always worked perfectly. This is very frustrating. I reported the issue and Apple emailed me and kept suggesting I use the export Master file option, which as I explained is cumbersome. The y then thought perhaps third party MXF plugins( Hamburg Media) might be causing issues. I had a brand new laptop with nothing extra installed and it still fails.
MXF export is also broken here, with XDCAM hd 422 codec. I get render mistakes that are detected as Timecode jumps at the technical Quality check of the TV station. when i reimport the MXF to FCP X and go over the TC Position FCPX crashes.
with 10.3.2, 10.3.3.and 10.3.4. and happens with Master file export also , with compressor settings
Playing out a XDCAM Disk with good old FCP 7 and a Sox U2 didi the Job
Cant be sure anymore that the rendered mxf is OK .
