I have this question for a MacBook Pro. I am very new to MBP. I am using the built in trac pad. I find my finger getting sore from clicking. Is there a certain setup I should consider for FCPX use? Would I be better with the magic trac pad or will that hurt portability? Other options out there?
Magic Trackpad or Magic Mouse, either will fit in a laptop bag very easily. Both will relieve the strain of that tiny laptop trackpad. Both have options making them easier and more powerful than the built-in trackpad. My Magic Trackpad goes with me when I take my MBP on the road.
First I tried the smaller Contour but too flimsy. Then I got the larger Contour for $129 and used it for a year very plastically and feels cheap.
Ended up with a MSC3 from JL Cooper used from Ebay for $75 last week.
Extreme quality and works excellent with programmable free software for FCP X and some other apps. Highly recommended both product and company. Always fast answers from their support. High quality stuff.
Those who use the Magic Trackpad, can you tell me why you prefer it for editing over a mouse?
I just switched from PC and Premiere, and intend to start using FCPX on my new iMac. I got the Trackpad 2, and while I enjoy it for casual use, I find I'm about 20% faster with my mouse when it comes to speed+accuracy.
