There was a discussion about "SRT Caption Workflow and Translation" with 10.4.4 on another group last week.
I created a little app which extracts the spoken text from a SRT for a further use with Google translate (or similar) or a service bureau.
The original SRT's text then can be replaced by the translated text. It makes it easy to create a rough translation with the app and having no problems with "screwed up" numbers in the time information.
The installer includes a small help file along with the app.
A very fantastic and useful app as usual, BRAVO
I did a good test using a 976 item SRT file and used text wrangler to save back the translation ( you need to use CR and not LF in the .txt file not to crash) and everything will work great if "google translate" does not choke on the translation before the end of the document. 871 / 976 ...
Again a great tool THANK YOU Andreas !
This is awesome. A video like this should bring you money. But I'm also glad you're sharing it with us for free! I had to pay for every translation I needed as I can't really speak Spanish. I mean I barely know the language. Fortunately, I've found this
during my high school years and I cheated through all my foreign languages classes. I just can't remember the words, maybe I have a problem, I don't know, I was never good with languages. But English is one of the most spoken languages so I'm not worrying that much. I got a nice job without needing Spanish or other foreign languages, lol.
