Every time I use the CEA 808 captions option I get a red bar for the captions that tells me either a) "The caption text contains invalid characters" or b) the caption must be moved further inside the timeline

a) I've used a simplified Chinese captioning along with English and they were created as such from Edit> Captions> duplicate language> simplified Chinese

b) the caption works when I drag it further in that the spoken track is, making it fairly useless.

What am I doing incorrectly here please?

All help entertained and thanked

Bad language choice B)

Because of character limitations, 608 captions are limited to encoding in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, German, Dutch.
