Hi there,

Not sure if there is a more appropriate forum but I have had FCPX 10.4.6 and have been editing some 4k GoPro footage and created two project (1920 x 1080 and 4K). I have a 2016 MacBook Pro 15 inch Touch Bar model and when I have tried "sharing" the 4k project my computer has force restarted about half way through the export (4k master file about 2.5 gig and also tried the Apple Device 4K which is about 950mb) so not large projects.

Have restated and used disk utility to use first Aid but the program either quits or the the machine will force restart. Never had issue with this machine before, only now when trying to "share" (export). I have managed to "share" the 1920 x 1080 project but I still get problems with the 4k Project. Any ideas on this. I have apple care for another few month but thinking they won't be able to help with this problem. Anyone else had an issue like this??

Hi Robinson
Welcome to the fop.co forums. IMHO a great place for the FCPX community.
There are several things that could be causing your issues and here are some suggestions to find the problem.

I would start with running EtreCheck app. It is available in the App Store and is free. This app will scan your computer and check logs to check for problems. This may uncover problem files, outdated plug-ins etc…

All Macs have built in logging and your problem will be listed there. You can use the Console App located in your Utilities folder. Here is a fairly good article on using Console to find problems… blog.macsales.com/45586-how-to-use-the-m...to-diagnose-a-crash/
Or Apple's take… support.apple.com/guide/console/welcome/mac

Console and Crash Reporter will help pin point what is causing the crash.
Given that you still have Apple Care, you can have Apple take a look at your logs and help resolve the issue.
