Hi!

I would like to make an on-screen object disappear from view using the Genie effect like in MacOS when minimizing a window (CMD+M). I've found a plugin from FxFactory, but I'm not about to shell out $399 for one effect that I will probably only use once. Does anyone know of a way to achieve this effect in FCPX, or know of a cheap (or free) plugin?

Thanks!
Chris

Just curious, what plugin is that you found that costs so much?

Do you have an example of what you are trying to do?

Hi, arc!

Here is a great example of the genie effect on Macs when minimizing windows.

Hi, FCPX.guru!

This particular genie effect is part of the FxFactory Pro suite of effects which comprises a total of 39 various transitions and effects, and can be yours TODAY for the low, low price of $399! I most likely will not be using most of these effects, and if I do, it will only be once or twice. You can check out the product page here .

It is kind of like a PIP with tapering at the bottom. It seems like using a mask along with the PIP controls would work but I am not 100% sure. Usually I would test it out but I am super busy.

Distortion and Position parameters, keyframe them, that's as close as you're going to get. The FXFactory Pro package contains a lot of effects that are programmed, not done in Motion.
