I see that, but if you click anyway, the color grade is still there and gets match properly. I find it sometimes does and sometimes doesn't show the grade applied in the preview, but it's the preview only, the grade is still there.
Hi, don't know if this is of any use but I can't replicate the behaviour you are experiencing.
I did the same thing and all went smooth. 1080p footage in 10.0.3. However, neither preview strip updated in the storyline but crucially did show in the main canvas.
Yep, that's the drawback, is that the controls in Color Correction panes don't go to those positions, but you still have the "look". The single and only thing I've never liked about FCP X is the stupid color board and idiotic color correction controls.
If you do get a color grade you like in a clip, save it as a Preset, then apply that Preset to other clips, as an alternative.
Copy and paste works well, too, but only if you don't have other adjustments you do not want brought over. Let's hope we have Paste Attributes back in the next update, just like with legacy FCP. But I honestly think that unscientific, unintuitive, ridiculous color board was a HUGE mistake.
