I know this have been discussed before and the tip was to mark the effect in the inspector and use delete. It have never worked for me. I just get that "not possible tone" out of my lodspeakers and nothing happens. Yes i now to unmark the blu square but I really want to delete some effects completely to get a little more space in the inspector. Any other ideas?

It's always worked fine for me in the inspector, have you tried deleting it from the timeline?.

Select the clip and hit "Ctrl-V" to show the video animation. But you still need to select the effect and hit delete in there.

Not working, I have a Swedish keyboard but delete always works fine in all other situations. Have retstarted fcpx but the same.

I have found that clicking on the effect and hitting delete does not always work. It seems that clicking on the effect does not always activate the inspector window. Try clicking in a blank part of the inspector window to activate it or hit the keyboard shortcut "command 4" and then click on the effect and hit delete .

No. I can see the inspector window activate (changing little in lightness) but no. I have opened the animation window first but no.

are you hitting the back-space key or the delete key? Back-space is the guy to use.
So select clip in timeline>go to inspector tab>Video>click effect name>backspace key
Sorry if this question offends, not meant to:)

I think you mean the big Delete key next to the = key. The extended keyboard DEL is not the one to use.
