As many DSLR users know, OS Lion broke the Canon EOS Utility. For those that never bothered to use it, it is a great program that helps you set up picture profiles, remote control the camera, and use your computer as a monitor. (Yes! You can use your laptop as a monitor! For free!).
Canon has released the update which works with Lion. Happy days!
However, most FCPX users are running Lion, and Lion broke EOS Utility.
A lot of FCPX users use DSLR's. But with Lion you could not use your MacBook to monitor shots on your DSLR. So when I was gong to shoots I would have to monitor on a PC laptop (a drag) and then cut on my MacBook.
Now with EOS Utility working you can monitor your shots while you shoot them, on the same laptop you will cut the footage on later.
Its more of an observation that 3rd party companies are continuing to support and update to the changes Apple has made. A good sign, no?
