Thank you very much for your detailed answer it's greatly appreciated.
I have quite a few cameras but mostly used for the daily trips would be DJI Osmo Action, DJI Osmo Pocket usually in either 4k or 2.7k.
On my longer trip documentaries, I also use a Sony A7iii and several DJI Drones.
I have the build it AMD Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB and bought an aftermarket Radeon RX Vega 64 which is also installed.
The main editing is on an 4TB Accelsior 4M2 but I also have a drobo 8D and a Thunderbolt 2 Promise.
I do have BG render enabled, good tip I will disable and see how that goes. I recently re-installed my OS again and installed everything from scratch it seems like as longer the machine runs say 8-10h the more spinning wheels after every operation become. Ram CPU etc. is not maxed by any stretch though.
The add-ons vary but are either LenoFX, Pixelfim and motion VX. unfortunately, I can't really pinpoint to any one particular addon (that would be easy to solve) around once a day FCPX will not recover from the spinning wheel and my only solutions are a force quite. I usually cant restart FCPX after that but also need to do a system restarted.
Part of the initial troubleshooting I also removed the Vega 64
that is a good point, I was under the assumption Optimised was smaller if that is not the case it would be no benefit. I really should have no issues Editing on a 12 Core 2020 Mac Pro and Vega 64 but since switching to new MacPro and Catalina FCPX is running just crap slow and buggy (same addons as under Mojave)
I'm on a 2019 MacPro with a Vega 64 and since the Upgrade to Catalina FCPX, in general, is slow and temperamental. While I don't use Color Final I use quite a few Plug-Ins from Pixelfim LenoFX and MotionVFX and often have crashes and spinning beach balls doing simple tasks on clips without any addons used. Catalina i
has been a nightmare for me, unfortunately, I have no way to downgrade with a MacPro
it would be great to get some ideas. I'm a YouTube creator and shoot a lot of 4wd trips, so new trips every week. A lot of the footage I like to keep for reference and later use but to save space I was wondering if I could not make the optimised footage my master footage so instead of keeping the original media, and the optimised media (I know i can delete that) but why could i not keep just the optimised media given my work is in FCPX anyway so no re-creating of optimised media if I use one of the archived files?
Am I missing something? Does someon have a workfolow for that scenario?
Thanks a lot
yes same, still constantly have it from any licenced music I used during my Audio Block subscription which I now cancelled because of constant claims, their supposedly licenced content constantly get 3rd party claims against it. Using now Epidemic Sound and never had a claim
Thanks, Karsten, yep that would make sense Ad ins 60$ something us so around $100 AU$ .
In general, I totally agree if you put your work into it to make something easier etc. you should get paid for it..
I guess I'm just astounded (never had to deal with this before) how easy it is to take someone works down on YouTube with © claim which does not need any further substantiation. Not worth it for me to spend big money to fight it will see an update if i get a response from my Lawyer. It just means better never get in any fight with a Plugin Developer if you do YouTube as they can shut you down immediately no questions asked, it's up to you to fight it
yea the payment cancellation actually never went through so I still paid for the add-on. I tried to resolve with the vendor but he stopped responding after I requested my funds back. May contact a lawyer and see what they say. As I can see it it he just provides an easier workflow to achieve the same outcome, all video content is 100% mine as I dont know how long the objection takes I re-uploaded the video and did the same graphs in Photoshop (could have also done in FCPX with pretty much the same outcome just took way longer...
question without going into a long story I have an active YouTube niece channel with reasonable subscribers numbers.
I purchased a infographics addon from a known vendor. The not so cheap (AU$100) addon only gave me grieve it would not work properly as after a while fonts would disappear so I had to choose a different font which again would work for a while and the same issue even if it worked in FCPX when rendering fonts often where missing. This only affected this particular addon I have no issues with any other addon. I tried to solve this with the seller but after a while, he stopped responding and I filed a chargeback with PayPal for the non-working add-on. The vendor now filed a copyright claim for the video which uses his addon and YouTube without doing any questioning gave me a Copyright Strike and took the video down. All film footage in the video is my content nothing from anyone else, but I use his addon to create a graphic overlay (which did not always render correctly).
So here is my issue and question, besides that I paid for the addon I can't see that this is a copyright claim.
Could some please clarify
1. Everything any 3rd party addon creates in FCPX can be created manually in FCPX and Motion (which I also both own). An addon only speeds up the process but does not create unique content which I could not manually create with FCPX or?
So I cant see how an add-on vendor could ever file a copyright claim which would warrant the takedown of a video, or am I wrong?
I'm not trying to avoid paying for add-ons I spend thousands on them from many different vendors but you would expect them to work.
Could someon please advise.
thank you will give that a go next time
