Thanks joema, we do use Tentacle Sync. We want to give our students as much experience as we can. So we thought we'd teach them Tentacle sync, Sync'n Link and Pluraleyes. I'll try the option from Pluraleyes to export all the audio and not just the 2nd source.

Hi,
I have a support ticket with Red Giant for this issue. But I thought I'd check here to see if anyone here was using Pluraleyes?

We are trying to sync up Video with scratch sound recorded on an Atomos Shogun 7 in proRes 422 @ 1080 25p. The 2nd source audio is recorded in .wav on a Zoom F8 audio recorder on 2 independent tracks.
Everything works well inside Pluraleyes, the sync works. I export an FCPX XML from Pluraleyes with the option to create an event with replaced audio. When I import this to FCP X with either clips left in place or importing the media. The audio lanes for the synced audio are there but they are empty. So we have no audio in the event.

As an experiment, I saved out a Premiere XML from Pluraleyes and brought that into Resolve 16.1, the audio linked and was in sync. I then saved an FCPX XML from Resolve, brought that into FCP X. It came in as a project. It had all the 2nd source audio in the correct place, but it hadn't made sync clips. I then tried the FCP X XML from Pluaraleyes in Resolve and that gave an error. And listed the FCP X XML versions that Resolve supported which were from 1.3 to 1.8. So I opened that XML in TextEdit and Pluraleyes is saving out a version 1.2 FCP X XML.

So on to my main question has anyone managed to get an XML from Pluraleyes to FCPX and have all the synced audio brought in? If you have what version of FCP X did you use? and what was the version of Pluraleyes?

I've just upgraded to Sierra. MPEG Streamclip was working before the upgrade. After upgrading it still runs and will happily work with all it's usual file types except anything that needs the MPEG2 component. But, like TJ7 I use it to cut little pieces out of VOBS or whole DVDs. So I dug around a little and found a fairly simple way to get it working. Apple have removed the QuickTime folder from the ~/Library/ folder. Which is where streamclip looks for the MPEG2.component. So to get streamclip to work with MPEG2 files, try the following.

Get a copy of the MPEG2.component - I already had it in /System/Library/QuickTime - So I just copied it

In finder use the Go to Folder option from the Go Menu and enter ~/Library/

In this folder make a new folder, Name it QuickTime

Put the Mpeg2.component inside the folder.

Try Streamclip

I loaded a few VOBs and exported short clips from them. Their are a couple of issues. The playhead doesn’t stay under the mouse pointer when you drag. You sometimes get visual glitches when dragging to find the point you want. This isn’t seen in the output.

I can’t say if this will work for all MPEG2 files you try. I tried a few and it worked.

If only I could. We use backups for FCP X Although the students know how to set the software up to do timed backups, they forget, and this group have not ran the backups for FCP X since 26th of Feb. So I have no up-to-date backup.

Hi,

This is the first time I have had this issue. A group of my students have a library that gives the error - Library corruption detected on library"NAME"

Then the options Continue - Cancel

Click continue the library opens with one of the 3 events the focus, with the media available. As soon as you try and click on a project to bring it into the timeline or click on the library FCP X crashes.

Does anyone have any solutions to get this library up and working again?

27 inch iMac, 16GB RAM, 3.5 GHz i7 MacOS 10.9.2 FCP X 10.1.4

Thanks, I did know that. But in my defence, I clicked on the clip and did reveal in finder. That was of course taking me to the original clip and not the optimised clip. And I stupidly didn't look in the inspector. Or check out the folder I had the ingest going to.

We have just bought Sony PXW-70 cameras. Until Sony gets a plugin to ingest XAVC-L out, we are going to film in AVCHD.

The AVCHD is ingesting without a problem. But, the media is coming in as MPEG4/H.264 (According to VidSpec)
I have 'Create optimised media' checked, and I was expecting the files to come in as ProRes. Is their anyway to force
FCP X to create ProRes files as optimised media? I know I can use ClipWrap to convert the files, but I want to find out if I can do it only with FCP X.
