Does this seem somewhat misleading that on the "Works With Final Cut Pro X" camera compatability page they say the Blackmagic Design Camera CinemaDNG (among others) are compatable?

Or at least imply it? (As far as I know and have tested, the CinemaDNG files still aren't...just ProRes obviously, even though it says CinemaDNG)

Contact Apple maybe we are missing something... or even contact Blackmagic! But tell them resolve is not a NLE lol

I think that the claimis partial justifiable in that you can toggle the log switch for the camera models mentioned

So, it seems that the consensus agreement is that the real issue/problem is my choice to leverage the best my camera can do (RAW DNG v ProRes).
I came back in from the cold and hoped for compatability with 10.3 but looks like I'll be sticking with Resolve.

Thanks for the repies folks.

It is uncharacteristic of me to be so negative. I was just recalling my years from v1 of Final Cut through to the investment in Studio and shake and color and gear and paying for my Pro certifications etc., etc now don't get me wrong stuff changes and builds and for a longtime I loved FCPX, then the basic Mac specs changed and I was looking at redundant hardware too. With the recession and a shrinking (keeping it in-house now) client base, keeping up with Apple became a no-no for purely living and eating reasons:) I have been absent from this forum for two years and I'm dipping my toes back in and it would be great to just see the product becoming better without an upheaval but in terms of delivering to customers, Apple (with their fiscal and marketing clout) really could take a leaf out of BlackMagic's book with regard to how they democratised Resolve and invested in development and ongoing incremental upgrades. I will now don my hopeful hat and get off my high horse:)

Assuming you are on any of the last OSX version... Click on 'Go' menu at the top of your screen when you are looking at the desktop. The when you click on GO hold down the alt key and your Library folder will appear in the dropdown list, select Library and then track the path as you outlined:)

Quick update.
The Workflow: shot 1920x1080 Pro Res film/log mode with Anamorphic lens. Stretched in FCPX to 2048x858 with an upscale of 7%. Output from FCPX at 422HQ quality. Brought into DCP-o-matic, only change made here was the default data rate was moved from 100mbs to 150mbs. Nice and easy. DCP popped onto an EXT3 formatted drive (see previous post). Thank you all for your help, Kudos to everyone. Lee :)

The cinema would prefer a Linux ext3 formatted drive and Disc Utility managed that for me yesterday after I had downloaded a trial version of EXTMac. I didn't like the look of the Premier/media encoder DCP. After it was complete I opened it in EasyDCP Player and the colour looked awful:(
I'm going to look at the DCP-o-matic. Thanks again
