View the trailer for the film here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6fIGK81BL8&t=
This is the final stage of editing and will be up to 2 months. Structure and spine of the film is cut together. We're well into the edit, but the scenes of the film now need to be built out and then everything polished to be great.
Editing will need to take place in our suite in Austin, TX, but if needed we can cover an AirBNB to house you during the job.
Position is PAID.
Hopeful for how a 3rd party may use this functionality!
Anyone notice the 10.4 release notes and the section on proxies?
Under the FCPX 10.4 release notes "issues" section, it says "Third-party asset management systems can now send low-resolution media to Final Cut Pro through XML import and later replace those low resolution files with full resolution files through another XML import". Has anyone tested this? Does this open up the ability to create 3rd party proxies and then ingest and FCPX will properly relink? Something else?

(This question originally asked by Chris SInclair on FB but no answers yet. He and I are hopeful this means good things!)
Tested this in/out workflow when getting into the office and here's what's happening for me: if there are "grouped clips" above the primary storyline then it no longer allows me to simply set an in and out with i/o. If there is no group above the primary then i/o works as expected.
Seems like 10.3 may have a new way to select different video tracks of sorts to set ins and outs? (i.e. use keyboard to tell it to i/o on primary or in the group?) Thoughts?
Has anyone noticed or figured out the different in/out setting when playing through the timeline?
When playing on the main storyline with no clips selected I used to be able push "i" to set an in on the primary storyline or, "o" for out. Now it seems that I and o don't do anything unless I clip a clip on the storyline first and then push I or o while playing trough that clip. Has anyone figured this out? I have major muscle memory tied to that functionality, left over from avid days. Hoping I'm just missing a new possibility
Related to the murmurings/wishes that the next FCPX could include new collaboration tools... Abode just announced a "Team Projects" functionality, but without details on price or availability.
Thanks guys. Very helpful!
Quick multicam and XML question... I'm editing on the road. Duplicate hard drive is back at office with assistant editor. Problem is we didn't make all multicam clips before duplicating hard drives. If I make a muticam clip on the road, then do an edit/project and send that project XML back to the office, will it include the new multicam clip when my assistant imports the XML? Or do all multicam clips need to be made prior to sharing XML?
Any help is much appreciated!
When sending from FCPx to resolve for finishing, are there any errors you have to work around, or is it pretty seamless now? We haven't tried roundtripping with XML since an experience a few years ago where we couldn't get Resolve to interpret the multicam footage. Would love to hear that's not an issue anymore or if there's a simple workaround.
(FWIW, we do send to colorists still, but usually just a flattened file with XML).
In the event viewer window I cannot get the waveforms to turn off. Every time I uncheck the "show waveforms" box it just automatically re-checks the box once I click away. Anyone ran into this? Solution idea?
