How to Fix DSLR Moiré in FCP Using a Free Plugin

Jorgen Escher made this FCP plugin in a response to a cry for help from Marvels Film. The plugin has been designed to battle the disturbing problem of micro-moiré which appeared after a Canon 5D MkII shoot. Micro-moiré manifests itself as red/blue color streaks and pixels that appear in natural and irregular patterns, such as hair, water and grass. Download details after the break.

The plugin is not specifically designed to only work with the Canon cameras, but with any other DSLR video camera that uses the line skipping algorithm to reach it’s HD resolution. Jorgen believes that’s all of them except for the Panasonic Lumix GH series. Go here to download the plugin and get more tech spec.
