when you export an XML 1,8 from FcpX in order to swing it to X2Pro and then ProTools, do you choose "Audio" for the XML or do you stay with "General" ?

thank you

Stu Wart replied to the topic 'Source Timecode in Logic Pro X' in the forum. 2 months ago

ok, so the good news is your problem is solved by syncing and editing in FcpX then mixing in Logic,

( the way those things are supposed to work anyway)

I you really have to: sync in FcpX, swing a sample to Logic, pre-mix it

why is unclear, Mitch, is why don't you sync and edit in FcpX and then mix in Logic ?

(there must be a reason)

Stu Wart replied to the topic 'Compressor LONG exports' in the forum. 2 months ago

if you " Enable additional Compressor instances" in Preferences/Advanced

it will process separatly chunks of you exported file, you know that ? then it will take some time to assemble those parts in one file. That's "the hanging" ...

Maybe in case of a batch some confusion slowers the process ? (it shouldn't)

Stu Wart replied to the topic 'Sync clips from Premiere to FcpX' in the forum. 2 months ago

yes, thank you for the insights...

since 9 hrs of shooting have been synchronized in Premiere and a 4 hrs rough assembling done by assistant ... : I guess I will have to learn Premiere :) !

(it's fiction, only cuts, since I was seasoned in Fcp7 it should take me 3 days and I'll get the rest on the way)

Stu Wart created a new topic ' Multicam to Protools' in the forum. 2 months ago

When you edit multicam : superposed audio clips from the same audio channel in the Multiclip won't populate differents lanes in the Timeline (according to roles).

Those Audio clips will superpose in the same lane. Because they "wear" the same role ! (inside the Multiclip) and you can't change the Role for some of them because you can't change the Role of a Multiclip. (or edited part from a Multiclip). And it is supposed to be one lane = one track" in ProTools.

when exporting a AAF with X2Pro it dosn't seem to bother the audio mixer in ProTools. Never complained ! I guess X2Pro generates a specific track in this case.

Has anybody looked into that ?

joema wrote: That was interesting. However -- their total source material was 91 clips. For FCPX, essentially no use of the Event Browser, keywording or filtering was portrayed. It was NLE vs NLE, solely in timeline editing.

yes without comparing the uge and devastating superiority of FcpX in terms of anything in Browser, (+ Timeline index and so) over any editing solution it doesn't make much sense

Stu Wart replied to the topic 'background tasks not complete message' in the forum. 3 months ago

yep dgw ! I appears that once some analysis was not right at some time it will pop up anyway. Even if you export as little as a single clip from the timeline without any retiming !

I didn't go for the brutal force of trashing the cache, but good to know that you really start afresh doing this.

When exporting that message

"x_Sequence " has background tasks that are not yet complete. "

If you continue, these effects may be missing or have reduced quality:

Retiming - Optical Flow "

acts like a virus you won't get rid of

no matter if you check any clip concerned in the timeline and confirm analysis done ... it still pops up !
