Which is the best DSLR for video?
As for the camera: The 5DM3 just produces the images I am looking for (and I mostly do corporate/advertising and music videos. With a decent audio adapter, e.g., a BeachTek DSA-XLR Pro, you can record on the 5DM3 with Phantom-powered mics. And, of course, we are all waiting for April's firmware update which will allow us to export the sensor signal directly via HDMI to an external recording device, so that we don't need to use the compressed H.264 4.2.0 files from the card.

They are also available in all the other mounts too.

Does that cause any extra problems or things that one must worry about when shooting video?

They are full manual lenses; no motors and no auto-focus. The aperture (T-stops) is controlled by a dial on the lens barrel (not controlled through the camera as with Canon lenses).

Sheesh. We'll have to wait for BM to actually start shifting the current model first; there are still large delays and the stock is only dribbling out.
But yeah; if they ever got a hold of a FF sensor (or even a APS sensor) it would be game-over for DSLR's as we know them today.

Aliasing & Moire? I have heard the Sony DSLR's are still having issues. Its practically gone with the Mk3.
Th Sony 'look' does not seem to have the out-of-the-box Canon 'mojo' that the average person seems to like.
The 5D name has a brand quality that people (outside of the business) seem to know about. Lots of people ask "Are we filming with a 5D". There is an instant brand recognition there that can be helpful when dealing with customers.
Still; I am biased. I like Canons, though I have used the GH2 quite a bit and also rent Sony cameras regularly (I recently rented the FS700 - great slow-motion but it still has the Sony video look).

Hmm... well I notice Larry Jordan mentions them frequently. Perhaps if we all start mentioning them more often they can move more product so we can all move up to the next level.
There's nothing quite as exciting as a genuine game changer.

I quote myself above, because as of today BM will announce a Cinema Camera with an S35 sensor (APS size approximately), with 4K RAW (and compressed RAW) for $4,000!
Game changer!
Next step will be RED filing lawsuits against them; mark my words!
