trying to export a file that's 3 hours and 15 mins long - am I nuts?

Hello all,
I shot a training video with 2 cameras for 3 hours and 15 minutes. I shot it at 1280 X 720 HD using a panasonic HMC 150. I'm trying to deliver it to the client and I'm not sure it'll be work-able. I did one export and it was 140 GIGS! I've shrunk the size down to something like 720 x 480 - but it's taking forever to export. It said it would take 16 hours. So now I'm trying to export 3 hour-long segments - and then see if that's quicker.
They'd like it on a DVD, or small enough to where they can stream it.
Also - it needs to be in a .wmv format - so I'm exporting it as a .mov first - then using another program to turn it into a .wmv file.
Has anyone else out there got experience working with super long files, and if so - what's the optimal format for a timely, yet high quality, yet light-file size export?
)
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It would fit onto a double layer DVD.
Export your project to a h.264 file with 1500 Kbps for web view gives you a smaller file with enough bandwidth for lecture videos.
WMV? You'll have to buy flip4mac and use its from within Compressor.

Why the need for .wmv in any way? Inform your client about the QuickTime Player.

Thanks for your response.
Would you recommend I export the project to H.264 from FCP?
Or should I export it as a standard QT - bring it into Compressor - and then export it as a h.264 with 1500 Kbps from Compressor?
I'll look into double layer DVD's - do they have like 9.5 Gig capacity? Could I burn to one of those with DVD Studio Pro the same way I would with a normal DVD?
Thanks.
