Boris Title Crawl - blend doesn't appear to do anything.

Ok, so I'm doing some credits. The blend function doesn't seem to work. Mask start and end work, but no matter how much I turn the blend up my credits just appear abruptly from the bottom.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Cheers.

Leave Mask Start and End at zero, pull Blend Start and End all the way up to 1, Animation set to Crawl, and tell me what happens.

Also, before that, with the Viewer window active, Shift+Z to be sure it's not zoomed in. And what format is the Sequence?

Hi, I've just loaded up my clip again, gone through the exact same process I was doing before, and now it appears to be working. So didn't even get on to applying what you said, sorry. Thanks for taking the time to reply though :)

Just out of curiosity did you mean mask rather than mast as well?

Glad it's working now. One thought I just had, and this may not be what you did. But tons of folks email and call me with problems from this mistake, and you reminded me of it. So I'll just post it here.

When you first create a Generator, it exists only in the Viewer. Then you F10 it into the Timeline. At that point, you can make all the changes you want in the Viewer, and nothing will happen to the clip in the Timeline.

Hint, look at the Viewer scrub bar. If it's clean white, you are working on a Master Clip from the Browser. Or in the case of a Generator, the original "virtual" copy.

If the Viewer scrub bar has parallel rows of dots, that is a Timeline copy, or sub-clip. The dots are supposed to look like perforation holes in a strip of film, meaning it's the copy actually in your film/timeline.

When you drop that Generator into the Timeline, what's now in the Timeline is a DIFFERENT copy from the original first opened from the Browser (or Browser short-cut menu in the Viewer). They are two different, unrelated clips.

Be sure before working on a Generator such as titles to double-click the copy inside the Timeline window FIRST to be sure. Look at the Viewer scrub bar to be sure you see the film perf marks there. Otherwise, if not, nothing you do will have any effect on that Timeline copy of the Generator clip.

I've closed the project down now and havn't saved it, just having a practice really so I can't even go back and check. I'm pretty sure I double clicked it to get it back into the viewer, but how convincing is "pretty sure" lol. I'll have a look next time I'm having a play to demonstrate what you've said.

Thanks again :)
