From a company that lost more market share than they care to admit to. "We will lead the future innovation", yeah, right, Avid's playing catch up. See that interface? Modern? Far from it. Ugh...

You are saying Apple lost Marketshare and Avids interface is far from modern (that's true)?

Avid lost market share, has been for years, drastically, and Avid's interface is about as outdated as any I've ever seen. Even Vegas outshines Avid at this point.

Comparing Smoke to an NLE is comparing oranges to onions, to start with. But if you insist..
FCP X looks like Smoke? Nope, not close.
FCP 7 look like Smoke? Nope, chronology would be the other way around.

No no that is not what I am saying... I mean the way it is used... for example no need to leave FCPX to get all your stuff in and organize and the most option are (how do you say) content sensitive like the rooms.

Media Management in FCP X is directly from Final Cut Server. Media Asset Management systems were doing this long before Smoke. Not sure what "rooms" is referring to.

Okay... I think your not getting what I mean... but they are going in the same direction as some other solution in the industry.
