this is my first post here and I want to first say hello to everybody. I am happy to have found this great resource of knowledge.
My first question:
I have build a split screen (generator for FCPX) in motion with a two screen vertical split by using two masked groups. I have published x and y position (pan) and scales for adjustment in FCPX which works without a problem. However I cannot keyframe those adjustment and therefore I cannot adjust x and y positions of the footage as needed.
Does anybody know how to solve this issue? For better clarification I have added a copy of my generator file as zip Archive
Tried this before. At least if I understand correctly. Published the x,y Position in Drop Zone A and B and also the Scaling. But this just moves the drop zones themselves, not the content. But as I said, maybe I misunderstood your hint.
I don`t think so. I try to explain: In the drop box left side I have a motor bike driving from left to right. I can center the bike initially, but it will leave the frame sooner or later. I want to keep it in the center.
That previous response was actually for another thread.
OK, there are two sets of parameters you publish for Drop Zones. Scale, Rotate, and Position for the Drop Zone itself (Inspector > Properties), and those same parameters for the content (Inspector > Image. You're looking to adjust the content, and there's a trick to that.
So let's say we're looking at the Drop Zone in Motion, in the Image tab of the Inspector. If the Drop Zone is empty, you have no adjustments for its content. So drop an image into it temporarily. Suddenly you'll see Scale and Position parameters. Publish these, and once all four are published, hit the "Clear" button at the bottom of the Image Inspector. Save the template now and you'll have your content parameters published.
