Free Motion Social Lower Third template

What do you mean you're hiding the Facebook logo? Can you do a screenshot/grab to show us?

Are you using Final Cut King's motion templates or the FCPX templates I converted (see above posts)?

first of all, thanks for doing this Raisins!

i have a question regarding the custom settings

i tried the custom image for this effect and having trouble getting a smooth cube shape for my custom image..

is there any specific dimension/ measurement for the pictures or clips in order to create a smooth cube shape? because i'm getting a jagged corner when i use normal pictures..

i also tried to add a white border to create a smooth transition between the sides when it rolls.. it does help a bit but i think it'll be better if i can resize the picture to match the measurement..

Final Cut King built this template so that the edges of the cube overlap. That's why you don't get a smooth cube shape.

Try 300 by 300 pixels for image size. That's what the default logos are.

I was able to download this and it work fine in FCPX however when I tried to replace text of FinalCutKing to iombie I was able to do that but next to the social box it still says FinalCutKing I thought it was bug behind it and it will show iombie instead after I put together a video but no it still shows finalcutking?

Am I missing something here?

Strange. What version of FCPX are you using?

Am using 10.0.6 FCPX I have tried many times still no luck but was able to work with it through Motion 5 had to search for the original file for Motion 5 to get it work.

Somewhere I tried to explain how I'd like the text box to be able to roll. Well here's a video showing what I was trying to describe.

Although they do add some yaw on top of the roll...

(I also like when the camera moves thru the text, which I think we can also do in Motion)

This template has a text bar, it's not a box.

The logo box spins and rotates though.

I know our text bar doesn't rotate, but somewhere in this discussion or one of these related threads I was requesting or hoping we could have text in a box that could rotate like this one does. The references I gave were the old airport arrival signs or horse race signs we used to see in movies, where the text box would rotate upwards or downwards. The little clip I just provided explained it better than my words could describe. Although they've added the yaw feature as well.

I still like the idea of text ticker bar that could suddenly rotate, revealing itself to be an extruded cube, & thus revealing a news flash or more important announcement. This would be particularly effective with light shining out of the letters as if they were cut outs with a light source inside the rotating box.

Alas... my Christmas wish list, a month too late...

I agree, that a rotating cube with different text would work well.

I don't think I'll update this project to do that but I'll try and incorporate it on the next project.
