Hey guys. A complete newb to installing plugins for FCPX. Iv downloaded and installed the plugin. However where do I go next? If I go to FCPX what do i select to show up the plugin? Cant seem to find that.
In FCPX if you go to the buttons under the inspector in the left side of the screen, you will find a series of 8 buttons, right after the text button and before the transition button you will find the generators button.
Click on the Generators button look for your generator. For the templates I created they will be under the label “ Motion Master Templates”
Thanks for the beautiful effect Deyson. Nice work.
If I may offer one word of advice... your style of tutorial is very difficult to follow for those who need it. I know it's popular on YouTube to make fast paced "tuts" to music, but they only speak to the people who already fully understand the programs - essentially people who don't need a tutorial.
You'll notice that all the people that make tutorials for a living, & get paid well for it (Linda, Ripple, Jordan, etc.), all use a slightly slower style with talking, teaching instead of distracting music.
Your fine products deserve the best accompanying video packaging, don't sell yourself short, it will affect the sales end of your templates line too. Trust me.
Please let me know what you think and if you find it better. Also if you have any more suggestions on how to make it better please share them with me. I am always looking for constructive criticism on anything the website, templates and videos.
As soon as I get a chance I will go back and update my older templates with a more in depth tutorial videos.
Once again thank you for taking the time to help. I truly appreciate your honest advice.
Nice work on this last one, Deyson. Much more like a proper tutorial, easy to follow, very thorough. Just be careful not to go too long or pace it too slow. Hehe.. I know I previously complained it was a bit fast, experiment with balance. Check out the Tuts guys place in this forum with their effects.
My personal favorite type is one that quickly shows me in the opening seconds exactly how great the effect looks in a finished video. Then & there I can decide if it's for me, or if I need this now or later. After that the explanation of how to use it & tweak it. I like your free flowing style of talking, it's very natural & conversational. Most people learn well from that environment. The point where you chuckled shows the improvisational component. If you need to have certain points covered, make a bullet style point list that you can refer to while teaching the tutorial, that way you can still maintain your warm conversational style.
This latest direction you're going will definitely help boost your site & sales. Next to think of marketing...
BTW - I love your opening with the slow zoom on the titling to music. Very effective
Thank you very much for your honest advice. It means so much to me
I agree 100% on showing the finished product in the first few seconds. This is great as I was looking for something to fill in while I introduced the templates. Thank you!
I hope to get better with time. I am definitely learning something new everyday and that is very exciting to me, that why I enjoy feedback as yours as my goal is to get better.
Also, if you have any feedback for the website on how I can make it better, please let me know. My goal is to make it as simple and user friendly as possible. I am planning on making a more detailed intro video in the near future.
