DoN't miss vers. 2, down below!

Technically, this is NO title, but a Generator.
So, after unzipping the attached file, please put the resulting folder into
Movies/Motion Templates/GENERATORS

When applying it to your project, it looks like that…
… plain white, quelle surprise

The Inspector unfolds a few parameters to play with, but - that ‚title‘ was for some school project - your options are restricted <silly laughter>

SWEEP - adds some movement, the camera slowly drives-by the title; slider to 0 (preset) it is plain from the front/not moving, 100 is about 30° to -30° (speed depends how long you make the generator).

TILT - changes the ‚height‘ of the camera, again limited …

… and, now the nutty part:
Title/Background Color allows to change from plain white to <cough> any color ….

I should mention: your version of FCPX should allow 3D text …

Enjoy that simple title, and feel free to customize it to your needs in Motion, don't be shy to reports your improvements here.

NEW! Version 2
Thanks to Ben, givin' me a push in the right direction, I built a new version from scratch, which - drum roll - comes aftert unzipping into titles, yeah!

I changed two things:
• axed the color option for background - if it's called PlainWhite, it should be plain white
• a second light situation, a bit more drama:

Why make this a generator, why not just make it a title?

Was just wondering, as I don't see anything in it that requires it to be a Generator. Easier to access titles in the Tilte Browser. Just saying...

Nice template, though. Very clean, not overly complicated. Like it a lot.

Sooo, after some further investigations:
I'm not able to rig the Sweep camera behavior in a Title Template.

In the PlainWhiteTitle Generator, my 'Sweep' slider applies a value from 0 - 30°/-30° to allow a symetric camera movement.
In a Title, I can set those values manually, but can not rig them.... 'publishing' would work, but to make it simple, I'd like to have rig/slider

Why it is so… ? Tell me .......

And glad you like it. :cheer:

When you copy/paste a layer that already has parameters assigned to a rig, you still see the "rigged icon" there, but there's no rig for it to connect with. Broken link. All you can do is publish the parameter. You can't un-rig and re-rig it, either.

Just remember these two rules:
1 - You can NOT copy rigs between Motion projects.
2 - Therefore, if you copy layers with parameters assigned to rigs between Motion projects, the parameter has a broken rig link, and is stuck in rig limbo.

Delete the sweep behavior, and add it again from scratch. It'll work just fine. I do these in title templates quite often.

thanks Ben, indeed, copy&paste was the culprit.

Made a new version, axed the colors, added a switcher fordirectional light and point light ... still plain white but with a little bit of drama (just one single light.... crazy).

For those, who like it more colorful, the old Generator is still avail.-
