UPDATE

// dl, un-zip and drag into ~/Movies/Motion Templates/Effects //

This free plugin adds a moving watermark to any clip.
In the Inspector you find some parameter to play with:

• click on the two circled arrows to create a new, random seed

• Method allows to select from 3 diff. ‘Comp-modes’ - depending on the colours of your clip or your watermark, A, B or C gives better results

• Type selects a ‘title’ or a graphic as watermark

• Text - here you type your © or URL or whatever you like to overlay…

• Size… well, the size of the text

• Drop Zone comes to use when you selected as Type ‘Graphic’: click into the well and add your pic… if your pic has transparent parts is has to be png

• Scale… scales the size of a pic

• Move allows to select a flowing movement or a ‘jumpy’ watermark.

NEW
• Speed controls the … speed of the WM

If you like the Watermark across your whole project, add an Adjustment layer and apply this effect to it.

Enjoy Movie making!

What exactly is the random seed controlling?

it creates 'random randomness'

no, to be serious:
all 'Random' functions in Motion create 'erratic' numbers - precisely the same on each call of that function …
so, clicking those circle-arrows creates a new so-called seed-number to ignite the generator which creates erratic numbers, to create a diff. 'randomness' = which results in different movement-patterns.

… computers do hard in being non-repetitive ;)
huge topic in cryptography …

in short:
in my lil' plugin: creates each time a new, different, random pattern …
try the 'jumpy' setting!

I know what "random seed" does, I wasn't clear what parameter it was effecting. So there's two in your plugin, for X and Y movement independently. Got it.

ahh, and now I got it, what you're asking for. Sorry!
Yep, diff seeds for randomly x- and y-position…

And 'flow' and 'hop' means:
change values continuously or quantised (400pix steps) …

Hi Karsten!
This looks like a nice and interesting feature :)
I would be happy to try it out, but until now I can't make it work in my FCP.
I did everything as stands in your one-liner but it keeps refusing to show me it's beauty :/
I attached a screenshot. It doesn't load and it shows no parameters in the inspector.
If it's not too much trouble for you, could you look at it? Maybe you'll know why it doesn't work.

Regards,
Michal

OK, have you followed advice, given by MotionMasterMind Simon Ubsdell?
www.fcp.co/forum/7-fcpx-how-to-tutorials...nstall-fcpx-plug-ins
(that ' .localized' - thing is of paramount importance)

… and: my plugins usually demand the latest version of FCPX… you're on v10.4?

Hello Karsten,
I had to switch off for a while and now I'm finally free to come back to FCP.
Thank you for the warm welcoming and help with the quest :)

As it turns out, the problem was my version of FCP. After upgrading it everything works flawlessly.
So thank you for all the hard work on the plugins, especially this one :)

PS. And thanks, next time i'll upload the image properly :)
Cheers!
